I agree with Pisces. She had some goo dinsight on your sitch. I think you had some trip ups but I think you got some good insight on your H and what is really bothering him. I thought you recovered nicely.

the fact that he is depressed is good info...that was my H's issue...and it just takes time...you already know what works.
just realize how much pain he is in and show compassion- or at least think compassion...i learned from my DB coach to not pry and ask if he is ok or pry into his emotions...to not make him feel weak or let him think he is weak.
since he is so down on himself it will just take a lot (A LOT) of patience from you and unconditional love.
listen, validate....he will talk more and open up....
im sure you are one of a few if the only person he has said this to and that is in your favor!
