Well this is fun S 2 yr old laptop has taken a turn for the worse, so much so, its not worth fixing, but he is able to plug in my nice flat large monitor into his laptop and at least use that, until such times in the meantime he brought from the garage this OLD 10 yr old monitor , I seriously need binoculars to see! So pardon in advance for typos
Odd too, he called his dad, to see if he could help w/ a new laptop, he will need it as classes begin in less then a month. His dad said " give me some time to round up some money" Now is it me or is that an odd statment?? visions of drug deals going down come to mind. anywhoooo he is helping and taking him out Sun.
I guess I cant complain, I am pleased he is trying.....this week. again, this week!

K:I'm glad for Ry that his dad is taking him out. Ash has seen her dad more often lately too, though she did mention she was waiting for a call from him yesterday (That never came).
And my ex makes comments like that all the time. Needs to "round some up". Not sure what that means but dn't care as long as he finds it.
Can't believe a laptop only lasted 2 years. Mine is 5 years young and I use it all the time and it travels EVERYWHERE with me. Hope it lasts forever.

I will be using my first laptop soon! and it will be PINK!! thanks to , well B and my birthday lol I was putting money away every few weeks and he said he'd help but he went and ordered it and said to save that money for bills or take him to Mc Donalds lol, hes a pip
cant wait, will be using it to type my assoc. stuff for $$! although I've tried laptops and do not find them too easy to use.

My laptop is a small Sony. Some people find the keyboard too small but when you travel a lot - weight is a big factor.
One of my DB guy friends helped me get a good deal on my laptop while we were at a get together. In his province there is no sales tax, so that, along with his business savings - snagged me a really great deal. I will always thank ABHelp for that!
I did not stand in line all night on Thanksgiving, but found out about Best Buy's "2nd Chance" line about 8:00 Friday morning on the day after (Black Friday). I got Jake a Sony laptop for $300 that is the most awesome thing in the 2nd chance line.
It's gonna have to last him through 4 years of college, but I'll tell ya, his Sony is way more awesome that my desktop.
But a pink computer is something us girls can only dream of...
A little side story.
My boss paid for my new cell phone. I went to the store and told the guy I do NOT want a girly phone. "Sell me what you sell the guys." I told him. I settled on the Blackberry Pearl and when it came time to pick colors, I wanted the pink one. He laughed and said: "I thought you didn't want a girly phone." I told him it's not, the phone itself I didn't want to be girly, the color CAN be cause I'm a GIRL. My daughter understood, my sons did not. I'm sure you do.

had to laugh, Ry was telling me at dinner that his dad is a real piece of work not that hes not appreciative he is helping him w the comp. but he goes thru this song and dance, " ok now lets think about our best options" " on a scale of 1-10, how urgent do you need the comp right now, 10 being totally" WTH?? LOL
Ry just laughs and knows to play the game. Oh vey!

My phone is white w/ some red trim, not girly enough so my niece offered to bling it up a lil w/ pink sparkles, thought maybe I'd pass lol
and $300 for the laptop? woweeee! Well w/ ex buying it now he may have to compromise, but I am sure at this rate w/ his totally ready to die on him, he will be happy with whatever.
