We had no food at Butler Wash. We stopped much further down river for that and I saw no ants.
Weirdest ants I have ever encountered were green ants in Australia. I leaned against one of their trees and man can they bite. You also can grind them up into water and it tastes like lemonade.
I have eaten ant egg soup in Thailand. Gum ball sized containers it ant eggs inside - when I bit into it, it had a very strong ant taste. I got it down and it was not too bad.
Only things I have not tried is snake blood and deep fried scorpion.
