simple lunch - let me guess ... meat layout? turkey, ham, roast beef, red onion, cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, wheat bread, mustard. Pringles. Cookies.
If Nate, as well as others, was vigilant in picking up dropped food there wouldn't be an ant problem at Butler Wash. Sadly that isn't the case. Just be glad you didn't camp at the camp on river right just below River House and the barton cabin - awful ants!
In the Mojave there aren't so many prickly pear. There are some large spiny things, though - not ocotillo, but something else. I'm very careful!
