Continued prayers for you and all your family members. His passing sounds typical of him, taking care of the ones he loved, waiting for your mom to be ok.
My pastor's wife survived brain cancer and he often talks of the pain of those affected by cancer, family members included.
Remembering is a wonderful tribute to those who depart from us. When you recall some stories from unearthing his treasure trove, do tell some of the ones you long ago forgot.
