I would wait another week. Your L says that it should be based on income, would you really need an L if he took you to court? Sounds like the judge is going to rule based on fact.
Have you shared the information your L told you with your X? Might help him calm down a bit about this.
You have until the end of the month, give yourself a little more time to process this. I'd only move on this if it will be stressful for you in the long run. Sounds a bit unfair to me considering the information your L has already supplied.
