That's the other benefit of doing it with the divorce, no cost!

How come it will cost you Trip?
I changed mine back. My S was older and hes the only one I cared about bothering ,it didnt so I did it.

Takes a little time but I am glad I did. Thought ex was going to be marrying OW, and same thing did not want to share the last name w/ her and be the " old Mrs. A" ugggh. He never did marry her tho lol but I am really glad I am back to the name i was born with.

It cost money every time you get new ID made. That would mean drivers license, passport, SIN card, etc. The name change itself is free with the divorce but not so afterwards.

hey guys, this is what I'm wondering about, so is it free to change your name along w/ the divorce? So when i go to my pre trial I can ask the judge about it?

I wish I could make my ex change her name. I hate someone running around doing the crazy things she's doing with my good name.

Well, good-ish.

Mostly.

At least in most states.

And Puerto Rico.

Hi chiki!

Yup, if your considering a name change the time to do it is at the time of divorce. As Trip said, if you wait it will cost you.

In my case I chose not to change my name. My youngest did not want me to and actually asked me not to. Sometimes it just makes it easier on them emotionally.
