Well, you are splitting your lives so eventually there should be a clean break. Yet you still have this need for each other. I guess being friends or friendly with your EX isn't the worst thing to happen, but your next woman might have some insecurity issues with it. Whatever works for you is good, but a good 180 for you would be some tough love for her.
