You can tell Ry you love him, and that based on your knowledge and experience "blah, blah, blah...I love you, blah, blah, blah, if you want my advice, I am here for you, just ask. Again, I love you."
Now, he may or may not hear anything other than "blah" or he may actually hear your pearls of wisdom but you pretty much need to just give it to him once, leave the door open and then let it alone.
As for you, when you start to fret or worry or want to "fix it" you have to remind your self hs is now in Graduate School, the Graduate School of Life. The lessons we learn in this school are the hard ones, the ones that hurt yet remain with us. When the "fix it" mood arises, just realize you are making it worse by not letting him learn and grow through it. If he needs you, he'll ask. I promise, he will.
