Well, had another nice weekend with H. Went to Phoenix for 2 days on business, came home and went directly out to the desert here for an overnite camping trip with H and the kids and some friends. Good memories because this is where we went camping on Valentine's weekend when my H finally turned around
Back now and getting more excited about Boston in two weeks - can't wait to meet the DBers there.
Was reading Sage's thread about getting back to basics and I think it's a great idea to reread DR - was cleaning out a drawer today and found one of the notes I used to keep in my pocket - 180s, beginner's mind, will this help you get closer to your goals etc.
Sometimes I do wonder how any of us do something so difficult!
Can't believe I forgot to tell you all this great story from my weekend:
The car service driver who picked us up at the airport was from Brooklyn originally. We got started talking and I asked him how he ended up in Phoenix. He said he moved there while in the middle of "marital warfare" - wife of 15 years was divorcing him. That year, he made plans to return to Brooklyn to spend Christmas with his kids, and told his wife that since they weren't divorced yet, he was going to stay in the family home. She protested - he considered not going and just sending presents - but he insisted and she finally acquiesced.
Well, he got there and they ended up staying up late talking - she was able to see his changes, they were even able to laugh about the bad times. It ended up being their best Christmas ever, and eventually she decided to move to Phoenix with him and start over. That was 13 years ago and they are still happily married
