Hi all - back from my weekend but little time to post this morning. Had a good time travelling with H, his grandparents looked great, short but sweet visit with his siblings, H seeing the ways in which the undiagnosed depression in some of his family members has wrought havoc. H is doing great. I'm really looking forward to this trip we are taking later this week to Fiji!!! A non-business trip, with some great friends - should be fabulous.
Been thinking a lot about advice to DBers, don't have time to write it all down now, but will be working on it.
Hi all! Not much time to post, just got back from a week in Fiji with my H All my dieting friends out there will appreciate this: We were staying at a surf resort on a tiny island - only about 30 guests. Pretty much living in swimsuits all day. I realized at one point that at 47, I was the oldest woman there. My friend from Sydney is just a couple years younger, the rest were in their thirties and twenties. And a pretty fit and athletic crowd. But you know what? I looked as good as anybody in my bikinis. And on the flight home, I was reading an article about Arnold Schwarzenegger, and noticed that Maria Shriver is the same age as I am - AND HAS BIGGER CROW'S FEET!!!
Heard an interview today on NPR about her new autobiography "Madame Secretary". Then leafed through her book briefly when I was at the bookstore picking up a copy of "The Scarlet Letter" for S16's English class. Her H left her at 45 for a younger, prettier woman - but first a lot of alien back-and-forth behavior. Finally, he was up for a Pulitzer - told her if her won it, he'd stay and work on the marriage, but if he lost, he was out of there! Needless to say, he lost. Too, too sad. The stories are SO similar, aren't they?
Things are all good here. H has been travelling and working like mad since we got back from Fiji, but I got to go to Florida for a couple of days during his business trip there, and he's finally home tonight. Things should start to settle down. Boy, the upward spiral sure feels better than the downward one!
Okay, did anybody read Dear Abby yesterday? Woman writes in about her soon-to-be fiance, who's a great guy in all respects except - he believes he's an alien from another galaxy!!!
Hey - at least HE'S being honest up front with her BEFORE the wedding!
