I think doing them EVERY day is probably a bit much. But if he completely stops for a few days, she may just roll her eyes and go "uh-huh, he doesn't follow through again, it was just temporary" so there is danger in stopping.

I think being on a somewhat unpredictable schedule is better. E.g. take one day off, do it two days, take two days off.
