I think God DOES talk to them. I know He has spoken to my wife. They just refuse to listen. Too wrapped up in themselves. I think He has actually YELLED at her.
She is deaf.
Satan did do his thing. He threw the temptation at them. They fell for it.

My wife TOLD me, after she ended her affair and when she begged me to take her back, that she had "heard this voice" throughout her affair. Initially, she said she could just block it out. But that grew harder to do, and that, at the end, The Voice got so loud that it was deafening to her, and that she knew it was the Voice of God Himself, convicting her of her sin. She also said that He spoke thru other people to her.
