I don't know if being friendly is the best thing to do. It's just what I'm doing. I guess I get affected when other people see us interact and then say, "Why the hell does she act like that - doesn't she know she's divorcing you?!" In her mind I'm sure she's making a point of being friends, but subconsciously I think she's holding on more than she realizes. Since all her time is taken up with schoolwork or activities with research group, she's not going to realize to what extent this is the case for awhile.
I don't need to get a skirt - I actually already have a sarong to wear on the river. Hey, it's great - clothing, a towel, or a sheet all wrapped up in one item. No skirts for scotland though. I do need to get some new steel-toed boots for wearing into an industrial area. The bummer will be having to haul around all this work stuff when I travel afterwards.
