As for the convo with H, you need to call him back and apologize for lashing out. You know this. He is a DAM and we cannot count on them to know the right things to say all the time. Worse yet he is an MLC DAM, almost guaranteeing he is going to say the wrong thing. However, it does not diminsh his concern or his place as the head of the family.
Unfortunately, even when they do not act as they should, we must still act as if they are and treat them as such. I am finding that when I keep my mouth shut, do not respond quickly as I have in the past, and treat my husband with respect, that those are the days that he tends to be nicer and more helpful around here. I doubt he realizes that I am paving the way for him to resume his position as the head of our family, but at least I know I am striving to live my life according to God's plan, I just must wait for God's timing.
