H is very excited about the new job, sent me some pics of his new project. He called once. I called twice, to let him speak to D17, she has just returned from her short holiday (an took over comp ). He sounds like his normal self, doesn't drink at all, works long hours and lives at home. He didn't mention OW recently, neither did I.
I'm waiting.

He called today and I was in the shower with shampoo all over my head, so I asked if I can call him back in 15 min. He said, nevermind, I'm calling you for no reason ( !) and I'll call later today or tomorrow (he was going to a friend's birthday party).

I guess I was getting too positive lately - it was time for a mini bomb. I've just learned that D17 failed one of her IB exams, which may result even in cancellation of her admission to college!
I called H and the convo didn't go well. Of course, I was all worked up about the results and H (or am I imagining things?) was once again distant and sounded as if he didn't care that much. He even muttered something like "whatever happens happens for the best", to which I replied acidly "is that so?". He immidiately said that what he meant was : D17 will learn her lesson now. Terrible DBing, I know.
He also suggested that she should repeat the year (which is not necessary, she can simply retake the exam next year) and I got even angrier and replied that HE can stay here the next year if he wants to, I'm going home no matter what. He replied with something unintelligible: well, yes, i guess I could, well, if it's not compulsory, nevermind, she will retake the exam, that's all. Was he really considering yet another year of separation?
Sorry, just needed to vent...

Stella, I'm so sorry that your D's college admission might be in jeopordy at this point. This just adds more stress to your life.
Ups and downs in Piecing are to be expected. It amazes me how the MLCer's mood can change so rapidly. Hopefully, once your H has time to think about it, he'll realize his suggestions were illogical. Hang in there, Stella!
