I guess I was getting too positive lately - it was time for a mini bomb. I've just learned that D17 failed one of her IB exams, which may result even in cancellation of her admission to college!
I called H and the convo didn't go well. Of course, I was all worked up about the results and H (or am I imagining things?) was once again distant and sounded as if he didn't care that much. He even muttered something like "whatever happens happens for the best", to which I replied acidly "is that so?". He immidiately said that what he meant was : D17 will learn her lesson now. Terrible DBing, I know.
He also suggested that she should repeat the year (which is not necessary, she can simply retake the exam next year) and I got even angrier and replied that HE can stay here the next year if he wants to, I'm going home no matter what. He replied with something unintelligible: well, yes, i guess I could, well, if it's not compulsory, nevermind, she will retake the exam, that's all. Was he really considering yet another year of separation?
Sorry, just needed to vent...
