I love the idea of the smiley face on the bathroom mirror. And, I think your situation is quite different than the adorable cookie's, so I think it would be OK to ask your wife at some point in the future if she would like to work on the marriage, but you're going to have to word that very carefully. Maybe something along the lines of, "I deeply care about you and your happiness and would like to work together to build a happier home life. I think it would be worth the risk for us both to actively work on our marriage." But you'll word it much better and throw in a bunch of that Jeff charm we all love so very much.
