(((((W2G, Mishka, Jen, Lola, Kelly Jo, Michelle)))))

Good morning!

Jen, I didn't throw any shoes. Somehow, I don't think it would have exactly the desired effect. Kelly Jo, I responded. Lola, you can always get a hug here!

I'll see you all more in a while!

Jeff,

I would definitely throw shoes - her shoes! Women are very attached to their shoes.

I'm looking forward to lunch in half an hour, there's a farmers market in the park and they have music at the same time. GAL!

You are a gem. I hope for your sake your wife takes another look.

Sheesh! Since catching up with you yesterday, there's already another 5 or 6 pages! Popular guy, eh?

She decided that meant that I was trying to shove the problem off on her, and that I said that I work more than she does. I said, that I had said no such thing.

Do you think perhaps your W feels burnt out from working her job then coming home to take care of the family? What does she do for work - what's her occupation? Does she enjoy what she does? Do you know what her dreams and aspirations are? Do you ask her about her day?

Like Michelle, I agree that it seems your W feels very unappreciated. Do you and the boys help out around the house? If so, how often? Could the boys do more? Perhaps performing more acts of service, rather than simply telling her, will help her to feel appreciated.

Sorry if you've been asked all this before. \:\)

S18 was there, and said, "Mom, he didn't say that at all!" About that time she went into a huff, said she didn't need to listen to that, and that she was going to her room. Then she and S18 got into more of an argument for at least another half hour, I don't even know what about. He won't take her crap, even when she is right.

Like mother, like son?? ;\)

(((Have a great day!)))

I'm sure she is tired when she comes home from her job. She is a nurse (since September), working on an ICU. She works (usually) three 12 hour shifts every week, always 7am to 7pm, though the 7 pm is at least 7:30, sometimes more. So, it is a long day. But she doesn't have much taking care of the family to do when she gets home. They/we feed ourselve, clean up afterwards, and don't demand alot of attention. Often she and the younger boys will spend some time watching TV or reading in the evening. I have often asked about her day, but less lately. Sometimes she'll talk about it, but usually it's just "long".

She may feel underappreciated, but I am coming to the conclusion that she is underappreciating herself, and projecting that on the rest of us. It's hard work through that.

The kids and I really take care of most of the housework. She rarely has to do cleaning in the kitchen. She and the younger two boys clean up the common areas every week, and they do a lot. I'm sure we could do more, but we realy do quite a bit.

S18 and his mom have a lot in common! When they get into it, it's like the irresistable force and the immovable object!

I asked her if she wanted to do anything for the 4th last night. The kids were not all home at the time, but she said she'd talk to them about it. I'm not going to push too much. If she doesn't, I'll make sure I take care of the kids, though it may turn out to be on the 5th! I'm running out of gas.

Things are going to change. And they will be better. I don't know what that looks like, but finding out will be exciting!

Don't run out of steam! Just keep a steady pace. You have some movement and motivation going, don't lose it! It's always harder to get going again.
