And you know, standing up to them (us, women) is vital. As a woman I lost respect for my h hugely if he gave in to me when I knew I was being unrealistic and stroppy. I was doing it to push him. If he gave in I thought he was just doing it for an easy life and didn't love me enough to fight for me (insane I know). In actual fact he was probably just tring to keep the peace and make me happy. Don't take any rubbish unless she has an actual point, she'll respect you more for it. IMHO...
Gosh, when I say these things I feel like a fish wife - have you heard that expression? Apparently, according to the books anyway, those kinds of irrational feelings are normal woman behaviour. In those instances I do feel sorry for men as it seems so rational when you are living it, when you write it down and try and explain it that is when it looks so weird!! :-)

I think you are spot on. That is exactly how I felt, I am glad I am making changes there...it is making a difference. The hardest part is when things don't go well it is natural for us men to make you happy when in reality you a relooking for us to stand up. I always had a hard time with this in that I was also considered to be controlling.......so I was a controlling H who she could walk all over......lol
I hadn't heard the Fish Wife term before.

Upon looking it up it is an English expression. Originally it meant a fishermans wife who used to clean and gut the fish, loud, brash and a bit common but nowadays it's more of a naggy, whiney, whingey woman. I didn't mean to be that harsh about myself lol!!
I would love too, I did look around a little bit, but it would only let me look a little bit before it required you to sign up. Perhaps when I can spill the beans about the whole DB approach.....I need to have some reason why I am talking to a young red-head from Ven! lol

Well we just got the engineers report on the house we were looking at getting and it appears that the house has some "soil issues" related to the foundation. It has some settling issues because it is next to a natural draining source. I almost look at this as a mixed blessing. We were both enjoying living in the neighborhood that we are in and the house would have been more expensive. We are both ok with that and I think a little relieved.
