C2H--
Just a quick note to say how much I appreciate your example of humility, compassion and forgiveness.
It sounds as though you are reaping many just rewards. Hugs to you and your children,

C2,
When I went to Valencia, my D told me to remember two words.....Polla (chicken, probably spelled wrong) and bano (bathroom, again, probably spelled wrong). Got me through my time there. I could always find a bathroom and I ate a LOT of chicken, tho, it was difficult finding white wine sometimes!!

Donna,

Thnaks for stopping by and offering the kind words. Reading your comments and thinking about by life, I can say following statement is so true: Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself (see Michele's article)

As she points out in the article, we never "forget" but I have found out that my decision (consiciously choosing to forgive) allows me to battle and have victory over the temptation to dwell in the bitterness of remembering. I sense it is a war that will never be over with different battles that will be fought the rest of my days. Yet, as each new skirmish (of the mind) arises, I often find that I see them coming and am able to take them on and get past them more and more quickly.

I attribute my ability to remain (mostly) in a forgiveness mode to my belief that I am forgiven by God, because of my faith in Christ, for my trespasses and sins (past, present and future). I believe I so not have the right to remain in unforgiveness towards anyone. Do I want to hate Mr. X (OM, her new husband) and resent and blame X for all the hurt caused to everyone the divorce touched? Of course I do. But by personally accepting God's forgiveness, I give up my right to hold back forgiveness from towards anyone.

So, the humility that may come accross in my posts runs so contrary to my prideful nature but when I see my imperfection under the light of a Holy, loving God, it humbles me. I just desire to be transparent about my life and give God the credit for anything good that comes about because of my actions. The good that comes from me is prompted by Him, I get the credit for anything else.

Blesssings to you Donna \:\)

Jill, so happy to see you. I will remember your Spanish tutorial.

lnf, I will remember not to string the words together LOL!!!!!!

Off to listen to San Juan 1 in espanol in So Cal Traffic \:\)

En el principio era el Verbo y el Verbo era con Dios, y el Verbo era Dios

(Translation: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.") Hey, I might be able to do this after all. Of course, I will be praying for each of you as I remember, Jillybean you too \:\) )

muy bien!! tu español es muy bueno C2H \:D

You are a smart cookie, hope you keep up with your spanish when you come back too. Also, the spanish in Spain is a bit different than the spanish that's talk by the immigrants from south/central america. Sort of like the english in this country is different than the english that's spoken in England. They pronounce their z's real well, and other quirks, so, heads up \:\)

(translation: "cat03, most beautiful woman of them all. Everything I write comes from my head (my brains). For this reason I know it is not without gramitical error but when I think in Spanish, it is better than having fear and not practicing." OR "cat, beautiful brain woman. The reason I fear gramar is I can't think" )

Yep, I was aware the Spanish in Spain is different but the bible says But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise... so I have confidence that He will take whatever I can muster up in bad Spanish to do something amazing. AND when Spain has come and gone, I know He wants me to use and develop the Spanish more for use in Mexico and here in So Cal.

Karen,
Stinkin' Forgiveness! Gotta do what we gotta do and it aint easy, is it? I really like Michele's article on it! What a wonderfully wise woman.

Yep Jillybean is in for a treat when she does Pollo Loco! I wanna be there for that! Yummy!

Bethie, so can you imagine how excited I'll be when I finally think "I've found the one!" (Oh wait a minute, you guys have already seen me in that "la la Land" mode LOL! )

Karen, my translations got me covering my bases because I am sure I'm probably botching something up but I am going for it just the same!!!! Por cierto, pienso que pongo mi pata en mi boca muchas veces. ("I am certain I put my foot in my mouth many times" OR "A foot in the mouth is better than one up the..." Don't blame me, it's an old Mexican proberb! (ok, I made that up)

Hey pole swinger, I'm not touching that with any of your poles, 10 foot or other!

So, I get a call today telling me the various editions of the Spanish/English bibles are in at the bookstore at the other church I visited last week. After informing me about the books, the clerk then asks me if I might not mind being informed of some of future gatherings the singles put together at her church. I said, sure, why not! It has been a running joke (sort of) between us on the three different occasions I have visited the bookstore. We have discussed the lack of "singles" ministries at either of our churches and dialogued about how people "hook up." I shared that it happens through serving in the church and sometimes through missions trips (now you know why I go so often LOL! :grin)

So I may drag some guys out with me to some of their functions in the future, schedules permitting. (man this is sounding more and more like a "college road trip" as I see the words I'm typing \:o too funny!!!). So, what do we have to lose right? She mentioned a "game" night and also a "book reading" to which I told her "yeah right, the guys are gonna jump all over a poetry reading opportunity." She corrected me and said it would be the "classics" to which I said, "Oh, well that makes a all the difference in the world (with just a tinge of sarcasm)" We laughed.

The lady is not my type but we can always be friends (now, where have I heard that line (on more than one occasion) before?)

(I'll remember to tell the college road trip story one day)
