Hey WCW - been wondering when you'd poke your head up again! Finished with your hay? Gettin' ready for your big workshop?
You know, not only can I make jam, but my family has roots down in the Ozarks in So. MO. Every fall we'd gather and make apple butter in a bit copper kettle over an open fire. We're talking enough to feed 400 here! Everyone would pitch in to cut up apples, stir the pot, and can the apple butter. Good stuff!
And when I lived in CO, I used to help some friends who had one of the last remaining apple orchards. They had an old wooden press and we'd make the best damn cider you've ever had. IMO.
