Hey RTL

Just wanted to stop in and send you warm greetings from the East. Well, I am sure you have your own warmth out there in PHX. I did a whole bunch of excercising (running)today. It is great to get out there and do that sort of thing. It beats taking synthetic chemicals in the form of AD's any day of the year. The human body's own endorphin production plant is always the best way to go, I think. Stay upbeat!! But I think your C was right in not getting to fixated on using raw anger to give you drive. It is very enticing, trust me I know and perhaps there is such a thing as healthy anger but it can too quickly turn unhealthy. I will be praying for you bro. Peace be with you always.

Hey Tomato,

I'm feeling really good after hitting the gym. It really does make a big difference in how you feel.

I'm glad you got out and exercised as well. It is so crucial for all of us to do and so easy for us to find reasons and excuses not to do it. Oh, well. I guess that is just part of being human.

In any event, I'm on my way out to hit some golf balls now b/c I've got energy to burn after the workout.

Talk to you later.

Hey RTL,

Man, you must be pumped as much time as you spend in the gym!

I'm not much of a gym person - prefer to be outside. I do a lot of running, biking, and swimming, along with stuff like push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, etc. I should probably get some gym time in, though.

I very nearly did that same sequence of events yesterday. I think I will have to head down to the basement today to fetch my clubs. Now that I have the p/u truck I can just throw them in there so they are always at the ready.

You seem to be several steps ahead of me because now that I think of it, I have been one lazy ofe when it comes to using the almost free gym here at work. There work out equipment and space is nearly that of any place you would pay big $ for a membership for and all they ask is $25 annually. So please keep rubing it in how you are going to the gym often so that I get my butt in gear. Maybe that will do it for me.

Much peace to you! How's Grace doing?

Lodo,

Yes, I'm in the gym about 4-5 times a week, but I'm only lifting twice a week right now. I just hate lifting legs and I've never had a problem w/ them, so I really don't do them like I should. I know I need to add it as it will help w/ muscle tone and burning of calories, but I'm not on that wagon yet. Hopefully, I'll get it done this week and stick w/ it.

I'd love to be able to exercise outside more, but the combination of our heat here in Phoenix and my bad left knee make running on hard surfaces nearly impossible. I'm ok w/ the treadmill, which is unfortunately all I can do these days.

Tomato-If you have a gym that is pretty good for only $25 a year, I'd jump on it and try and get yourself going. Your body always feels good after cardio work, but I ran for a bit after lifting chest and back yesterday and it felt great b/c I could actually feel my upper body muscles while I ran. It was a good feeling and lets me know I'll be ok to hit the pool w/out embarassing myself.

However, I didn't do so well w/ golf last night. I was hitting well, then I stopped to call my D. Well, wouldn't you know it, but W got on the phone and when she hung up w/out a goodbye, I let it affect me and my practice session was pretty worthless after that. I left close to a 1/2 bucket on the ground and left. I was able to talk myself out of letting her mood affect my mood, but just by going there for a little bit, it totally screwed up everything I had going on the range and I was unable to get it back. So, I hit one good one w/ good tempo and left.

So, now I'm going to get cleaned up and look at what I need to get done for today.

Talk to you later,
RTL

My D called me this morning at 9:30 to talk. W was getting dressed, so D picked up the phone and we just chatted. We were on for over 15 minutes when she said she had to go. D also told me that she wouldn't be seeing me until Saturday b/c of the sleep-over she wanted to do w/ her school friend, so I'm guessing W had set it up and I'll hear about it later. It isn't a big deal b/c I've signed off on it, so I'm hoping that is what D will get to do b/c she's very excited about it.

I went to the gym this afternoon and had a good workout and D called me on the way home just to talk. So we discussed our days and then she wanted me to be her son and she was saying "that's great, honey" after eveything I told her I did.

It turns out that W has a migraine and was laying on the living room floor so D had no one to pay attention to her so she called me. We were on the phone for quite a while and at one point W even got on and told me she had a migraine b/c she was "stressed." I didn't pry any further, but I was tempted to tell her to remember that this D is what she wanted and now she has to deal w/ all of the consequences. But, I didn't.

So, I'm now cleaned up and I'll be calling D back to tell her goodnight in a little bit. I've told her to be a good girl tonight for her mother so I hope she'll be ok and fall asleep quickly.

I'll be back later.

I guess those 5 year olds are quite the trip, huh. That had me laughing to hear that she took on the personna of your mom. I hope Grace gets to do the sleepover thing and has a good time. I am sure you will let us know. I hope you are having a wonderful night, Rob.

Tomato,

My D is big, big fun. I really love her and she's so creative. I'm hoping I can continue to help foster this creativity and let her just go and enjoy being a kid.

I got up early today (7 am) which is what I'd really like to do daily. I ate and went to a golf lesson then ran hard intervals at the gym for 20 minutes. So, I'm sweaty, but I feel great.

I'm playing golf today at 1 and I'm really looking forward to getting out there again.

I'll check back w/ everyone later.
