Matilda, Jak, Lanzo, and Piecing Friends,
I have no major breakthroughs to report.

I'm feeling pressure to make a move. I wrote a poem this morning about dating, and the obsession a man goes thru, trying to time when he will put his arm around his date. The woman is wondering, and getting increasingly frustrated, waiting for the man to make his move. The window of opportunity is open, but won't stay open indefinitely.

My W and I went dancing twice this weekend. The first night we went to a ballroom venue, so now my W wants to take hustle lessons, and I would like to learn foxtrot. The second night we went to a swing venue.

People come up to us and say hello, and say that they've watched us over the years. I didn't think anyone noticed. We are becoming increasingly connected to the local dance community.

I've been choosing to sleep with my W every night.

On Saturday night, after the community dance, my W and I went to our neighborhood venue, and danced a very close dance. My W initiated and led it.

My supervisor is also leaving the agency, and I'm considering her position, so change is in the air, both professionally and personally.

My W is conflicted about taking a Hawaii vacation. I'm apparently not showing enough enthusiasm. I've expressed a willingness to go, but am admittedly not looking forward to a nine hour flight.

CL,

Im'e glad that you are taking the initiative to Sleep with your W every night. If she didn't want you with her im'e sure she would let you know. Hey maybe the sleeping elsewhere will cease now. Who knows. \:\)

Change sounds like it might be a very good thing for you and W.
Think of all the chances to connect on that nine hour flight. Wish I had that much time with H that he couldn't run and hide. ;\)

Maybe you just need to act as if and show even more willingness to accompany your W to Hawaii. A nine hour fight is nothing compared to all of the positives you could reap from the time you would have with her.

It sounds like you are headed in a good direction with very huge baby steps. im'e jealous(happily for you).

I would love to read the poem you wrote if you feel like posting it.

Have a wonderful day CL, Go for that position if you think it is something that will make YOU happy.

JAK

Ah ha, she knew it. There are something's that you can't fake. Listen nine hours on a plane should be equal to something like, some small talk with W, light refreshment from the bar, 2 in flight movies, 2 meals and a bit of sleep. Come on, you can do it. get a book, get some magazines, get talking Hawaii.

Where would YOU like to go for vacation, CL??? Is it the nine hour flight or the cost that is the real issue? Could you and your wife find a compromise? I hate the thought of her going to Hawaii without you when you seem to be moving in the right direction!!!!

Matilda, Lanzo, and Piecing Friends,
I am willing to go to Hawaii. My job expectations have made it difficult for me to take vacation in the past. I've had to choose between the job or vacation. This is partly why I'm considering a change in roles.

I told my supervisor who is leaving that I am considering her position. She would hopefullly be a strong reference for me. I left a message with her supervisor also, stating that I would like to interview for her position.

I seem to have a case of Acute Bronchitis. I've been coughing for days, have had a persistent fever, and am coughing up yellow mucus. I took the day off sick to go see my doctor. I pushed myself to go dancing last night, but was not feeling well.

Due to the coughing, I've been sleeping in the guest room, so as not to disturb or infect my W. I will return shortly.

My W and I practiced dancing the other night till 11:30PM. It's very helpful to practice moves so one doesn't forget them, and to correct errors.

My W began taking private instruction from one of the better West Coast Swing instructors in the area. She likes to learn new material quickly, so doesn't want to partner with me for these lessons.

She is also going to that studio's social tonight. She's strongly hinting that she would like to go alone. I assume she's afraid that If I go, men won't ask her to dance. I'm not sure, but I won't make an issue of it. She can have her own dance experiences. I will ultimately benefit from anything she learns.

I'm planning on resting today, and resuming dancing on Saturday night.

Willing. That seems meaningful. Your wife may sense that you are not enthusiastic. What would make you excited about the trip? Would you be more excited about a different location?

Hope you're feeling better and ready to dance!

Keep us posted on the job status. You are such a thoughtful, concerned person.....I think you would make a great boss!
