Karen you just gave me a great idea when you mentioned "the day she was born."
I journalled the day she was born, recording thoughts and emotions while momma was unconscious etc. I took her to lunch last year and read the account to her and she really enjoyed it.
I think I will take those pages from my journal and type them out as well as photo copy them for her and present them to her with a baby picture. I know she'll love it and know that it comes from my heart.
As for shopping, she has a favorite place where they do consignment sales of trendy young people's stuff, should be fun.

We play bball Tuesday nights with some old guys and son gets to play one or two games at the end. Yesterday we only had 8 guys so he got to play and we used the full court (as we usually do).
The little stinker would take off as soon as one of his team mates got the ball and no one could catch him! LOL we were all too tired. Oh, I was responsible for guarding him
We had a good time and he felt good about kicking his old man's butt!
The day started out well and ended well.

Well I can't think of anyone better to have your butt kicked by. Plus the fact that he enjoys spending time with you is such a bonus. You have great kids C2!

It really is such a blessing the way the relationship has developed with son and . You know I share this stuff to remind me of what IS good about my life and to keep a proper perspctive when things get funky. I do also feel sad when I think about what putz's many of the WAH's have been. Then too, I have to deal with my own wish that kids lived with me. Nobody really wins, do they? (but at least we make the best of the situation )

Espana update So last night I was up really late loading the itunes with my Spanish bible. I loaded it in a format that would be useable on my ipod and did put it on the ipod as well. Estoy listo a aprender espanol ventecuatro y siete. (Translation: "I am ready to learn spanish 24/7" or "I am ready to rob a 7/11" I am really not sure what I said )
Tonight after church, we will have a meeting for those who signed up for Spain. I believe there are about 20 of us who plan on going so it will be interesting to see who is "in."
