Very good positives all around.

While it's great to take responsibility for the debt you brought to the M, don't forget her credit card debt is hers, and her medical debt is really hers. I'm not saying don't help her out or support her emotionally, I'm just saying, don't let her blame you for ALL of it either.

I don't recommend BK for anyone unless it is absolutely necessary, but let me know if you need the information. (((Jon))) sometimes you have to let them be responsible for themselves.

I'm guessing that she'll be able to arrange something with the CC company without getting near BK. I do find it interesting that she managed to get to the point of a collections agency before she realized she had a problem. She must have been ignoring things for a while. She needs to call them, and work something out. They just want the money!

No. I actually had to move some things around to send her $200 last week. $8,000 is way beyond what I can do. And why aren't her parents helping her out? One of the reasons she moved home was for financial help. I'm wondering how much more of this she can take.

Isn't that the truth? I really had to bite my tongue on that one. "What the hell were you doing?" probably wouldn't be good \:\)

I told her this also. She met with a financial counselor on Friday, and he told her some options.

She summed it up last night by saying "I just wanted you to be aware of all the trouble you caused". BS. That card had no balance when we separated. Then she put a new car and a boob job on it. And now it's my fault somehow.

Michelle, I agree. This could all be seen as positive. I just wonder how much she can screw things up before she wakes up.

Thanks everyone. Took care of some insurance stuff today, they wanted to verify that her headaches weren't from a car accident. They can sure come up with every roadblock in the book before paying out any freaking money.

Isn't the blame game fun? My W knew that D wrecks finances (watched her parents go through it), but she's still choosing it.

It's funny that all our dear WAS'S do the same things. Like they're reading the same book or something.

Or not reading as the case may be.....they obviously all have issues with learning from other people's mistakes!
