Oooohhh...Kalni must have one of those crackberry thing-a-ma-bobs! My bosses and all my clients have those and keep telling me I should get one. I told them there was absolutely NO WAY I was doing that because I'd never be able to disconnect from the world then! My computer addiction is bad enough!!!

Jeff, I really am sensing the pain in your posts today. You don't seem to be your usual happy smart alecky self. Are you doing ok today?

I don't want to discourage you from the path you seem to be on with W but if I could throw something out there.....

You just asked W to go to counselor to talk about you, not work on the M, and she turned you down flat. What reaction will she have regarding working on your M? She just doesn't seem like she is anywhere near wanting to be proactive. Are you definitely prepared to take some kind of action if she turns you down on this?

(((((((Mishka)))))))

Yeah, I'm doing ok! I think standing out in the sun took something out of me! Fortunately, a bit of a storm came through between that, and playing golf. (And the place I played is a little higher, and hence "cooler" besides. If actually turned out pretty pleasant, for being pretty hot! From looking at the weather the storm didn't make it to Tucson itself, it made 111, and is still 104! (Kalni, 111F is 44C). I played horribly, which is to be expected if you never practice! But there was no one else out there at all! I didn't see a soul until I was playing the 17th, and a couple people in front of me were finishing the 18th. And even though I was in a cart, I feel a little sore, here and there, so maybe it was good for me too!

As far as being reading for W's reaction, I think I am. I'm pretty much done, unless she can say something to make me think otherwise. I am not going to be in a rush to do anything, but knowing where I am headed will be a good thing, I think.

((((Jeff))))) knowing where you are going is always a good thing. Someone earlier said something about W being depressed and just from reading your threads, I think there may be something to that. I don't think asking her your question is a bad thing, I just think you need to be prepared if the answer is no.

Wish we were drinking on the beach anywhere but here! Thinking of you.
Corey

I think I am ready to hear "no". Or, at least as ready as I am going to get.

S13 fell off of his ripstick this evening, and scraped up just about everything. A couple of the scrapes looked worse than "road rash" so W is talking him to the ER at the hospital where she works. Since she is supposed to work in the morning, she is hoping to get some "preferential" treatment. If nothing else, this way the pain of getting everything cleaned up will be someone else's fault!

And the storm that sort of came through this afternoon had some lightning in it, and there is a fire visible on the mountain pretty near us. So I just took S10 on a quick ride to see the fire. We can't quite see it from our house, we probably could from the roof.

Just stopping by for a hug. ((((((((((((Jeff))))))))))))

Hope your boy feels better. I'll be thinking positive thoughts about the wifey.

Oh, it was 109 here today. Whew.

That's plenty warm enough! I was so glad that it actually "cooled" off this afternoon where I golfed!

I'm sure S13 will be fine. It's going to hurt for a while, though!

Sorry your son got so scraped up! Hope he heals quickly.

Since you're well prepared to hear "no" from your W then I say go for it. Just making sure you really were. \:\)

How aware are your kids of what is going on?

How aware are the kids....?

Well, they all know mom sleeps in the guestroom. The two little ones got her "I'm working, so I can leave" speech. (Don't know if they remember it, they might be good at blocking that out.) The older ones certainly know things are not good. All of that said, S10, especially, is going to be really hurt if things go the way they might. That's a big reason that I haven't pushed, to this point. I wish there was a way around it.

"I'm working so I can leave"?????? WTF?????? She actually said that to them? What kind of mother would do that to her children?

OK, because i feel like it!

A couple songs from the concert after the game last week. The group is Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers.

First, a funny one. Largely a sing-along, as I discovered:

Banditos

And the lyrics:

So just how far down do you want to go
We can talk it out over a cup of joe
And you can look deep in my eyes
Like I was a super-model

Uh huh

Well it's you and me baby
No one else we can trust
We'll say nothin' to no one
No how or we bust
Never crack a smile or flinch or cry
For nobody

Uh huh

So give your ID card to the border guard
Your alias says you Captain Jean Luc Picard
Of the United Federation of Planets
Cause he won't speak English anyway

Everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people
So meet me at the mission at midnight
We'll divvy up there

Everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people
Well I got the pistol
So I'll keep the pesos

Yeah, That seems fair

So put the sugar in the tank of the sheriff's car
Slash the deputy's tires
They won't get very far
When they finally get the word that there's been a hold-up
Uh huh

Give your ID card to the border guard
Your alias says you Captain Jean Luc Picard
Of the United Federation of Planets
Cause he won't speak English anyway

Everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people
So meet me at the mission at midnight
We'll divvy up there
Everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people
Well I got the pistol
So I'll keep the pesos

Yeah, That seems fair
That seems fair (REPEAT)

Give your ID card to the border guard
Your alias says you Captain Jean Luc Picard
Of the United Federation of Planets
Cause he won't speak English anyway

Everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people
So meet me at the mission at midnight
We'll divvy up there
Everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people
Well I got the pistol
So I'll keep the pesos

Yeah, that seems fair
That seems fair (REPEAT)

And then, one that kind of fits our international band:

I Speak Your Language

Lyrics:
I speak your language
I speak your language
You speak my language, too
I may not understand a single word you say
But I understand you
When you smile
All the darkness disappears
When you smile
It's all I need to hear

I speak your language
You speak my language, too

Echo?
Echo!

You're my native tongue
You're my daily bread
You're every word I've spoken, every book I've read
Now call my name, call my name

When you smile all the darkness disappears
