lwb: I am scared about this race, its my first big one!
I can understand, take your time, and thats it, run your race, check your time and the next race, see if you can improve on your time.
Check out the Big River Running Company, they have people that will help you train for these races, and it doesn't cost you anything, all they want is you to shop at their store and possibly wear one of their shirts when you run.
You will do fine, good luck, just think you are accomplishing more than most just by getting out there and running.

They are amazing there!! Very down to Earth and supportive. I am not physically fit, but there was no judgement when I went to get shoes there. My co-worker is close friends with the owners (one of them lived in her basement lol). She is the reason I am running next Saturday also, breast cancer at 33 yrs old. She is one of the healthiest life-livers I have ever met. She is back in the game, healthy and cancer free, but wow, what a set back for her. Amazing. Another example that you can do everything right, and some things, you just can't control.

That's so awesome that you are doing this. It makes you appreciate the little things. Wow bc at 33?? thats terrible. Im glad she is ok now. My grandfather died of cancer and my H's friend from highschool who is only 43 has Lymphoma.. we did a relay for him a couple of wks ago. Its just so sad, he has a little girl 6 . Just heartbreaking.
