Oh, and yes Betharoo, you do have it all together, welll mostly, ok, somewhat oh, nevermind.
lnf, so how ya doing today???
hey C2,
Yeah Bethies got it all together... only trouble is all the screws are loose and everything is kinda shaky ( Alright now, you freaks... no puns intended!)
Getting ready to take the kids on a little weekend getaway... you'd think I've had enough of rollercoasters for a lifetime... but I imagine the ones I'll be on this weekend will finally be enjoyable!!!
Psa 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Well I have been called many things, many, many, many things, but I won't bore you with that (you haven't heard anything have you? Have you been talking to Jill?). Rare gem is just another that I'll add to the vast list.....Um like uh what kind of gem? Not like a crappy topaz or citrine, right? I bet you mean more like a diamond or moissanite...'cause that's what I'm thinkin...
I would have sung if I checked the board. My favorite, "Jesus Loves me this I know."
I shared this elsewhere but my mind has always raced at night. So, I started creating CD’s I call music of inspiration. I am up to my tenth one now.
I only put soft music of worship, music that brings one into a quiet reverence as opposed to a spirit of shouting and singing in love and adoration to the Lord. Each CD has about 15 songs on it.
The last think I do before I get in bed is start the CD and because it is 80 minutes long, I will start it in the middle or towards the end as well as t the beginning so that it does not become the same old thing every night. Every song on every one of the CD’s is precious to me.
So I jump in bed, talk to the Lord, praise Him, confess any thing that may not have been pleasing to Him and drift off to sleep like a baby.
IF you do this, I guarantee your mind will be focused on Him and you will sleep in restful slumber.
Just in case you want a back up to this plan, put a note pad by your bed and if there is something that comes to mind that would normally cause you to dwell on it, (something you forgot to do, something you need to remember to do etc.) write it down and then forget about it.
If you have a busy day the next day, take a few minutes to write down all the things you need to do in the morning so that your mind is not preoccupied with the cares of this world.
No matter how exhausted I am, I try to have everything ready for the next morning, my clothes, the coffee in the coffee maker ready for me to turn it on, what I need to grab on the way out the door, what I’ll have for breakfast, what I will take for lunch etc. If I had to I could literally jump out of bed, shower and function on auto pilot until I actually wake up.
On most nights when I am too tired to do this, I will usually put some uplifting praise music on and just do what I need to do (however there have been some nights I sat on the bed and woke up in the middle of the night, not good)
Being ready like this has also resulted in another benefit. I usually have enough time to read a chapter of the bible before I leave the house. For years and years, I could not find the time to do this, mornings are so hectic etc.
I know it is so much harder with children in the house but it is a good practice to try to implement with the kids, maybe even make it a fun project at night.
