K, whatever happened to the bookstore? Did you ever hear back from them?

4:00 is fine for me! The movie came in today, and they're shipping Waitress today so I'll get that Friday or Sat. I haven't heard from the bookstore yet, but I went to a job fair today and found out about a few more jobs. Of course, I have to fill out applications or on-line applications to all of them, so that will keep me busy for another week or so. One of the best jobs I think maybe is part-time bank teller at Capital City Bank, and it's one block away (on my street), so that would be perfect. She said out loud Oh, a Master's degree when she looked at my resume, don't know if that's good or bad(overeducated?), but will try to get that also. I think competition is fierce around here-I guess everywhere!!! \:\)

H was going to pick up D8 at her camp b/c I thought I might be late, but I wasn't so called him and told him he didn't have to and told him briefly about the job fair and the jobs. Some were a bust, b/c they were nursing jobs or military which wasn't good, but I told him there were a couple anyway. I'm going to Summer Track night tonight where the kids run short track races and they all get ribbons at the end (everyone's a winner), and D8 told H so he told me he is going to be there to cheer her on. So that should be another awkward night of him acting weird & distant around me...

Oh, I almost forgot to say I watched Hellboy last night! I really liked it--it was funny and good I thought! I loved when he said I'll never give up on you--someday I would love to hear H or someone say that to me!!! And I loved the R talk with the 9 year old--did you know they are having a sequel to Hellboy--I just saw the preview for it when I saw Indy Jones movie--now I'll have to see that one, too! \:\) Karen

I'm so glad you enjoyed Hellboy. It's a bit of a love story, which makes me love it more. I'm really looking forward to Hellboy II.

Have fun at Summer Track and be sure to be charming and beautiful. "I'll never give up on you"... those are words you will certainly hear someday soon, Karen. Not to worry.

xo,

(((Karen))) good luck on the bank job (sounds like your planning a heist!) I hope it comes through for you.

Hellboy is a good movie, it was much better than I thought it would be.

Have a great day!

I've got a question for anyone that thinks they can answer it!!! I am in the middle of filling out the online job application to the bank job, and they ask for just the last 5 years job history. I worked for 20 years, but not the past 8 b/c I've been a homeschooling sahm. What should I do? It asks for all the employer and address info and everything. If I list just the past 5 years, I have nothing to list! \:\( One idea I was thinking about is I gave the woman from the bank my resume today and could type in see resume although if she lost it or can't locate it, then I guess that wouldn't be good. Does anyone have any ideas??? Karen

I would make another copy of my resume or attach to the online application if applicable and then I would list the tasks involved with home schooling and the special needs your kids have and how you have dealt with them. You can always take the app. in person and explain it further if need be. good luck!

I've done volunteer work at the church & theatre in the past year--should I list that maybe? Or ignore the 5 year thing and just list my past few jobs? I hate this!!! Karen

Karen,

I would do that, plus what Kat said. Don't underestimate yourself. Employers are, above all, looking for someone who is DEPENDABLE and HARD-WORKING and TEACHABLE.

Who's more of any of those than a SAHM???
