BC is one fabulous province. So much to do, so much beauty. The ocean and the mountains almost side by side. My friend has lived in different homes both on the island and in Vancouver, but always overlooking the ocean and the ferries (in both cities).
Many deer run through my friend's neighbourhood. I came upon a newborn fawn 2 days ago. Got great up close photos.
Ashley has been so much better. Things are not perfect here (I fired the cleaning woman) but not bad at all. She agreed to keep things in good shape. Me - I already clean up after myself.
Life goes on. It's going well. Now, to survive this heatwave.
Hey Karen: I can't get the taste of the Dungeoness Crabs out of my mouth. I could eat those all the time. My friends are coming here in 3 weeks (well actually to the cottage) and plan to bring along some seafood in a cooler. We may be feasting again real soon.
Well, I'm back. Got in last night, tried to adjust to the timechange already (it was like getting up at 4:30 AM). I had an early dentist appt - had made it from there. I had cracked a tooth while there and it was extremely painful. I have never had an extraction, but I did have one today. The tooth had been root canelled a couple of years ago and crowned but the crown was not staying on (former dentist was not the best). So out it came. I was a bit freaked at first but now I've been ordered to the couch, painkillers and antibiotics (yes it was grossly infected too).
Ashley went and got groceries and my prescriptions. She is being very nurturing. It has only been a couple of months since her wisdom teeth were taken out and I'm sure she remembers how I fussed over her.
I should be back on solid food tommorrow. I'm really a big WOOSY and always seem to have problems due to a very small mouth. I'm just glad it's done.
(( Barb )) Feel better! I've had an extraction or two, really not bad at all, the infection tho I am sure hurts, had that too, REALLY hurts, you'll be ok i no time.
I'm lookin into dental insurance now, Its been over a year and i guess no time like the present!
glad your home and you had a great trip!

Yep, like you - I'm without dental insurance. This is the first time in my life, and of course when I need it the most. I DO pay my dental work on the spot (I get 10% off that way) and don't postpone the work I need (well, except that extraction since nothing was really wrong). I may or may not get some in time.
I'm doing fine. It was a piece of cake compared to some gruelling procedures (one recent adventure was a 5 hour dental appt!). This took about 2 min! I will not fear an extraction again.
But nice to take to the couch. Josh is coming here tommorrow and we'll find something simple to eat (he will likely cook). I had asked Ash to pick up steak, but I think NOT!
Trip: BC certainly is one of the most picturesque places. Once you've been in the mountains - hard to imagine not being there. We drove over the Malahat on Monday and had tea at the Empress in Victoria. I thoroughly enjoyed that.
Didn't make it to the smaller islands this trip but I have been in your great state 8 times to date. My friends would love to have me move there. Josh has lived in Vancouver so its always a possibility.
Thought of you yesterday, for fun B and I went to look at some new "senior living" homes that were just built real close, since B will be an official senior in 2 weeks. Ha Ha.
The last unit you walked into went right up to stairs, but there was an elevator!! so cool, never have seen an elevator in a house before, because of my fear B took the lift and I ran up the stairs lol i beat him! ha
Hows the work going with yours?

You went to a Senior's Residence and thought of ME??? Hmmm??? Is that what good friends tell their good friends? LOL!
OK, about the elevator....
It is running. I have been in it. I LOVE it. I mostly love not worrying about Ryan having to climb stairs but I also LOVE not having the nurses walking through the kitchen all the time. Such a relief!
My mouth is doing well. Josh put it to the test this w/e. He was also a huge help with things around the house that I was concerned about - frig, hot tub motor, photos in the digital frame - stuff like that. Nice to have a guy like him around.
Off to the cottage tommorrow. Still no Internet there.
Watching Bach! Still love Jason. Really love Jason. Sure hope he's there to the end. Who are you rooting for?
