You went from a delicious description of food, to a horrible description of the circle of life.

The bikini clad women who are supposed to show up when you drink Sierra Nevada Pale Ale failed to appear but lodo is still hoping they're simply stuck in traffic.
lol - it wasn't me, I was eating the delicious burger! And waiting for the bikini-clad beer drinking women (where the hell are they, they should have been here by now).
You mentioned you've got artichokes. I'd love to grow those - are they hard to keep alive?
I only have one big one I have had for about 4 years and all I ever do is pull off the dead branches every once in a while. It has about 6 small chokes emerging on it now and is a good decorative bush. And we do get below freezing here for extended days most winters. My neighbor finally got envious of my choke and and planted himself an artichoke this week.
If you want to see miles and miles of artichoke, drive through Castroville California. It is the artichoke capital of the world.
I love artichokes - dipped in butter or honey mustard. Mmmm. Or I get the small ones at the farmer's market.
Okay, you convinced me. Artichokes are going in.
Meanwhile I'm drowning in basil. Why did I plant 12 plants? My record so far was freezing 5 gallons of pesto in 1 season. This year might beat that. Anyone got any parmesan? Or more importantly, pine nuts?
lodo - did you ever invited W for dinner? I mean!! I think she is going to miss THAT!... If you want parmesan -I actually got some delicious Parmiggiano Reggiano my mom got directly from Parma (Italy), ready to be grated.... pine nuts I found some decent one at Whole Foods.... I love pesto and my kids jump with happiness when I prepare pasta with pesto. W - before separation got me in the kitchen and asked me how I prepare some of my best Italian dishes.... then I tried her ragu'.... naaaah we are far away from decency.... My next woman has love cooking.
all right. tonight chef lodo realized he was all out of brats, so he thawed some delectable ground sirloin, mixed in egg, onions, salt and pepper, grilled it medium rare, and topped with red onion, fresh romaine, avocado, jalapenos, and aged cheddar. It was served on a toasted sourdough roll with a salad of baby greens on the side. The bikini clad women who are supposed to show up when you drink Sierra Nevada Pale Ale failed to appear but lodo is still hoping they're simply stuck in traffic.
The cat, meanwhile, pounced on an ivy rat and, when last seen, had eaten the head and shoulders and was working on picking the untasty bits out of the abdominal cavity.
LMFAO, Lodo -- you are just tooooo damned funny. Keep up the sense of humor, my friend.
Puppy, who also loves a good pale ale, and can't find Sam Adams' anymore :o(
I'm kind of wishing her the best because I think I'm done. And I'm kind of sarcastic because I think she's a broken person who will never know how to be in a long term relationship. She's selfish and has no empathy.
We have a very close relationship that she's always taken for granted so I challenge her to find that somewhere else. She's the type of person that only sees what they had when they've lost it. As much as I love her, what makes me think we can build any kind of future? Better to cut my losses and be smarter next time around.
lodo
I just like to call a spade a spade, and not let intellectual dishonesty abide unchallenged -- it's a weakness of mine, what can I say. I don't think there's anything wrong with telling her -- cheerfully -- "I wish you the best, (first name), but I gotta tell ya -- you're never going to find someone else like me. You just don't know it yet."
