Love that your H was checking out CEO. I'm curious as to how you responded? Did you say that CEO is distinguished (or some other term that makes older sound less negative)?
As for the speech. The fact that your H knows what qualities make a good marriage is a GOOD thing. I think when a person doesn't believe in marriage or feels negatively about the commitment/union they wouldn't be able to express such positive things as he said in the 2nd half of the speech. Your H is surely on his way home (although I wish he'd quicken the pace a bit ).
