My question about the whole thing is, why can't he call the service he hired her from and find her. Did he just find a random woman on the street and say I'll give you $100 if you'll clean my house naked. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense...

He says he found her on Craigslist I think. And I think the police have tracked her down. But really, if she was naked, how did she hide the jewelry? And of all rooms to leave her alone in, the bedroom? This doesn't sound realistic. Wouldn't he want to be in the bedroom while she cleaned it? Just in case she got tired and had to lie down? And who keeps $40,000 worth of jewelry at home? It's just all too fishy.

Sara-

Your story reminded me of something that happend in my BIL/SIL's neighborhood a few years back. They got a knock on their door in the middle of the night. It was the police. The person they were looking for had the same first name as my BIL & the house description was the same. After talking to the police, they figured out that they were looking for a guy that lived 2 doors down. Apparently, the guy's wife was a nurse who worked overnights. This smart guy took his wife to work, proceeded to pick up a "lady of the night" and brought her back to their place. Now that's stupid in itself. Then, he had sex with her (in the garage) and proceeded to tell her to get the hell out and refused to pay her. She walked until she got a cab. She took the cab to the police station and told them she was raped, gave them his first name, the street name & a description of the house. SMART GUY!! Not sure whatever came of it. I know his wife left him for quite a while though.

Wow! That's a great story too! What bad luck for your BIL to have the same name and live so close. People are unbelievably stupid though. The funny thing is, the stupider they are, the more convinced they are that they can outsmart other people!

I figured she hid the jewelry in the empty pizza boxes/trash that she took with her when she left? I didn't even think about it being a scam.

Maybe he was "tied up" in another room?

Recently I've been working with H and trying to show him how to navigate the internet but y'know, maybe I should just leave "well enough" alone...

Do they still have the big water slide at Land O Pines? My kids loved that when they were young. But if the campground had a lot of damage, I imagine that was knocked down by trees.

Oh it's back up and running! I cut the heck out of my leg on it last summer. It's a blast though, just gotta keep from "flailing" on the way down. The pool is too croweded for my taste. We do river walks and take a bag to pick up bottles and stuff along the banks and look for birds and wildlife... more coming back every year.

They have the theme weekends going, everything. The website lists them and even has a pic of my h on it :-) He rebuilt the A frame and they finally got a church in it and did a dedication to H's crew for the help they got from them while they lived on the trashed grounds.

We are going to the "not so newlywed weekend" it looks like a hoot. We go to battle of the bands in late august-- have a friend who plays. We also went to the luau last year and a few others. I have to go back to the site and look at the next one we're going to. We rent a golf cart from cart world and hang with a lot of the regulars and family members who own it. They were VERY supportive when I came back down and all told me at some point that he'd come see them and was lost without me.

Sooo, how's FL today? It's he11 hot already here.......

Yes, beastly hot today. But really, I find the humidity lower in Florida. I never knew of Land o Pines having all those activities when we lived there. I never heard of adult activities. We just took the kids there for the slide and to sit by the Bogue Falaya, or is it the Bogue Chitto there? We used to go to concerts at a winery north of Covington, and that was nice when it wasn't too hot. I'll have to tell Niki to check it out. sounds like something she and her friends would enjoy.
