Thanks, I don't think I ever heard that before.

I guess part of me likes being from the north east. I live on the louisiana/mississippi border and have been here for about 13 years. It is certainly a cultural difference. My W is a southern bell princess My W used to love my accent, now I sound like every other redneck unless I have recently talked to my mom.

I do miss a lot from the north east (seasons, culture, cool weather!, etc). I don't much miss the majority of the politics of massachusetts.

It must have been quite the change to go from Canada to Ven. At least if would have been for me....I am horrible at spanish

I have a student who was born in Argentina but grew up in Venezuela. When you hear her speak she sounds like every other Venezuelan except when she talks to other Argentines. Her boss thought she was making fun of some Argentine clients because she stated talking like them.

My Spanish is ok now but when I first moved here I knew 2 Spanish words and one of them was a curse word. It was a bit of a culture shock but H supported/supports me a lot.

I've bever been to Mass. but I had been to Maine and New Hampshire as a child camping with family. Been to Old Orchard Beach too. Are you from Boston? Yeah I knw there's more to Mass. than Boston. People ask me if I'm from Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver all the time.

Hey Jen,

I am from a little subburb of Worcester about an hour outside of Boston. I have been to old orchard beach a couple of times. Most of our family vacations were to Cape Cod though we did vacation once in the white mountains of New Hampshire which was nice.

Funny thing about accents is that I live about 1/2 hour outside of New Orleans and that accent is actually very similar to a New York/Yankee accent so fitting in hasn't been too bad (though I still have trouble with the heat after 13+ years!)

People ask me if I'm from Toronto, Montreal or Vancouver all the time.

wait, you mean there is more to canada than these three cities....lol just kidding

Ok so todays the last day of our little challenge. Whoever can manage NRT until today wins!!! Who wants to try for more days? My trip is for 8 and I'm going to go for 8 more. Of course might be cheating a little because H isn't going with us.
