Just bitching. W invited me to a party she's throwing for her birthday. I noticed the email only had a few people on it. Well, last night when I was talking to friend, she said she'd gotten an invite with lots of people cc'ed on it. She checked, and indeed, OM was invited.

Why would W invite me and OM to the same party? Is she really that clueless?!

Whatever. I'd been conflicted about sending a present or not - she gave me a book. But I think it'd be better for me to just ignore the whole thing. I'll give her a present again when she's proved herself to be a friend.

W probably thinks she is doing activities with you when she comes over and spends hours having long talks with you. That is how you connect, and her emails show her inner conflict and confusion.

IMO you are missing a great opportunity if you opt out of the birthday party. Awkward yes, but OHSOMUCH fun you could have!!! \:o ;\) When is this party?

Hey Lodo, I too would not go to the party if OM was going to be there. Maybe after the divorce is long over would it be ok to see your exW with another man, but it is too soon right now.

The 7th. I'll just be getting back from Montana.

Yeah, it'd be great fun. I could go over and punch OM's f*ckin teeth down his throat, wish W a happy b-day, swing my arm around her and kiss her until she melts, grab a beer and some chips for the road, then ride off in a blaze of glory.

New complication has arisen. Old girlfriend contacted me from out of the blue. Really hot old girlfriend. Really hot old girlfriend that I can't exactly remember why we broke up in the first place other than the fact that I was probably young.

God, is it just me or does 7 months without physical contact start doing things to you?!

Hey kerry,

looks like we cross-posted. I know, I know. I'm not going to go. Just don't understand why W would even consider it.

Are you getting ready for the heat of UT? When do you leave? Geeso, your trip sounds like a lot of fun - maybe I should meet you there and show you and your kids around!

Only 7 months and you're whining? jeesh, that doesn't even qualify you to be a reborn virgin!

A true story - just a couple weeks after I learned about ow we were all invited to the same party. You bet I went! H and ow were a heck of a lot more uncomfortable than I was! I looked good, I smiled, I visited with all those folks and even ow herself that fed me all sorts of information without even knowing it! It filled in many missing pieces. Ignorance is bliss, but knowledge is power!

What did hot old gf have to say?

Hey - 7 months qualifies me for a lot!

Maybe knowledge is power, but I think you had an easier time not punching in OW's face than I would have not punching in OM's face. You know - it's a Venus/Mars thing!

Hot old GF didn't say much, but mentioned she'd been cleaning and came across an old sweatshirt of mine that she'd kept. Wonder if my pheromones are still on it ;\)

Did really hot old girlfriend ever get married? If so, was she a WAW? It sure would be great if you and her could have a little no strings attached fun!

I leave on June 21 for a little over 3 weeks on the road with the kids. I will be very flexible and take things at the kids pace. We may skip some if we decide to spend more time at certain places we like. I plan to do mostly camping (BLM or pay), but will hit some motels in the cities or cabins at certain campgrounds if they are available. I will have about 15 gallon of water and will have a sun shower along for getting dirty kids clean.

My places on the way:

SW Oregon Alvord desert - nice hot spring there and a good one in Nevada nearby. The kids will hopefully see and hear some wild donkeys.

Ruby Mountains

Bonneville Salt Flats

Salt Lake City

Moab

Arches NP

Canyonlands NP

Goblin Valley State Park/Wildhorse Canyon

Capitol Reef NP

Grand Staircase / Escalante NM - Hole in the Rock Road slot canyons / Aquarius Plateau

Kodachrome Basin State Park

Bryce Canyon NP

Kanab / Buckskin Gulch / Grand Canyon NP

Zion NP

Las Vegas - most likely Circus Circus for the kids for a couple nights

Death Valley NP - I hope it is really hot as it will be during the first part of July.

Lone Pine / Bishop / Lee Vining / Mono Lake

Carson City - The boy needs to get his picture taken at State Capitols. So far he only has Oregon, Washington, California and Hawaii.

Reno

Tigard, Oregon

Hey kerry,

Wow - what a great trip. Sun shower is a great thing. I also highly recommend a sarong - it's a towel, it's a sheet, it's a skirt.

There are some great hot springs in NV too.

The salt flats are flat and hot and dusty and alkaline. FYI. I get through them ASAP.

Moab will be in full tourist swing and it'll be too hot to do anything. Do a day rivertrip if you can.

Arches will be jam-packed with folks.

Are you driving into Canyonlands at Island in the Sky (N of Moab)? There's a great place to camp off the road towards Dead Horse Point - called Long Canyon I think.

I love Capitol Reef. Give it my love.

I REALLY love Escalante. give it extra heaps of my love.

Sigh, buckskin gulch. enjoy.

Grand Canyon will be a zoo, as will zion and bryce.

Death Valley?! Are you out of your mind?! 2 years ago my W had a car break down on a field trip in May - temp reached 125. Don't forget that kids are more susceptible to the heat. Plus it's a long way from anything.

Lee Vining, Bishop, Mono - now you're in my neighborhood. I have good friends in Bishop and we do field trips all over here. I'd skip Death Valley and go up to Yosemite instead. Or, if you're heading to Carson City, the area around Markleeville is incredible.

3 weeks? you're doing too much. take some time to smell the flowers .... uhh, cactus. You're going to get tired and it'll be nice to just string up a hammock somewhere and relax.

Drink lots of water. Bring sunscreen.

You're assuming I didn't pull her hair out and scratch that itch on the inside of her eyelids!

Kerry, that sounds like an energetic list! have fun!
