cat,

your post hits the nail on the head squarely. Pray without ceasing? How does one do that? We'll we talk to ourselves all day in our thoughts right? If we can dwell on the fact that God's Holy Spirit dwells in us when we say we are His, we should then ponder that we can converse/pray with/to God all day (including praising or being thankful for everything).

Dwell on it a moment. Before us, lay multiple things to do, "Lord, which should I do first?" Implict in any of our conversations, questions or praises should be "Lord" so include "Lord" or not, He'll know we are conversing with Him. Going through a traffic light and seeing someone who may not see us, "Lord, protect me" or "them" when we see someone getting close to another car.

Do you pass by someone (on the street or in another car) who clearly looks distraught but it is impossible to stop? Pray for them.

As for our needs, the bills, the diminishing funds, we can pray and pray repeatedly but then leave them in the Lord's hands. As fear from the enemy comes to suck the life out of us, we can rebuke Him, "Lord, rebuke the enemy for you are handling my bills, you care for me and whatever happens, good are bad, must pass through you for it will work out for your greater good." Your trust in Him will deflate the rising fear. His ways are not our ways, right? The Word show several examples of people repeating the same request, this is called supplication and it is not exhibiting a lack of faith to keeep asking God for a request.

The enemy stalks and roars but under the protective wing of our sheperd, He has no authority or power over us. He has no teeth.

The Word says, greater is He (The Father, Son and Holy Spirit) than he (little "h") who is in the world. Even more so, God's Spirit dwells within us (said it above but it is worth repeating) and the enemy is a created being with power but not power to override God.

Quote:
Romans 8:37-39
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(I've been a Christian 20 years and it wasn't until recently, going through Romans with my men's study, that this understanding of our authority, through Christ, over the enemy.)

So, praying wihtout ceasing is possible and it unleashes incredible assurance that, regardless of our circumstances, God knows what's going on and he can and will guide us through our circumstances with the "peace that surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds"(Philippians 4:7) through our Lord.

These are some of the things God has been showing me as I have sought to keep growing, especially through the last two years challenges and I am SO grateful for all He has shown me.

Blessing to you and to any who may read these postings.
