Regarding Jeanette -- she was given a warning a couple weeks ago. In addition, due to the 'creative' way that she posted her personal contact information, it was evident that she was well aware of our board rules, and that she was making a decision to disregard them.
It is always our intention to be consistent in enforcing these rules. That is not to say that we notice every single post. If you or anyone else notices any inappropriate postings or personal contact information, etc, please feel free to hit the "NOTIFY" link and let us know. Many members of this community are already doing so.
And, yes, Jeanette is a very sweet person and a valued member of this community. She has agreed to follow the board rules from here on out, so her posting privileges will be reinstated.

Okay for real now would someone please answer the question regarding WHY the email addresses are no longer allowed???? I remember not too long ago when so many people had them in their sig lines...perhaps somewhere along the line someone explained but since we're on the subject again, maybe someone could clue ME in????

As for the notify button, I have only used that a handful of times and once was just to contact sg about my old threads. I will give warnings if I see email addresses but other than that I don't plan to be a tattle tail.
So, why aren't we allowed to contact each other anymore?
You know a lot of people develop good, healthy friendships here and I can't understand the reasoning behind the passive-aggressive impediment that is now in place. I'd also think it's a good promotional point but what the hell do I know?
So are ya'll worried about an uprising or somebody starting a new site???

Seriously, I have off board contacts that I know I have helped, and I know they have helped me, at times when there was no time for the boards, or when the topic might not be one that one of us wanted to post. None of the reasons I have heard for not allowing emails make any sense to me. For a long time the rule was you could put it in your profile, but not post it. So anyone that wanted to see it had to be registered. That made a degree of sense. The new rule makes no sense at all. I hope it changes, because if it doesn't I might get myself banned one day!

I knew I was breaking the rules, but like a good outlaw I tried to beat the system. I lost. So in all my humbleness which I really meant...i sent an apology letter to the Mods and to Virginia. They both responded to me in a sincere manner.
I was kinda....of uhm, high strung on actually knowing a fellow db'er lived down the road from me, one that I have posted to for quite some time.
It's all good in the MLC-Hood and thats all that matters.

I have exchanged phone numbers with other members of this board via email and it have been a most valuable help to me when I needed it most. I have made some great friends via email and my email is still posted on a certain thread that I shall not name right now.--go seek it out if you want to contact me. I will respond to anyone that needs help. Sometimes there are things that others don't want to post on the public forum or sometimes there is an emergency when someone just needs someone else on the other end of the line.
Frank - start your website. EDITED--ADVERTISING NOT ALLOWED. I will email those few individuals that I have emails for and they can email others. I too wonder if the no exchange is more for the creators and their agenda or for the people posting. I tend to think it is more for the creators. PM's at least need to be allowed.
