As I understand it, she was banned without warning after posting her email addy with the intention of someone getting it real quick, after which she planned to click "edit" and delete it. Others have posted email addresses on the boards and been given warnings. Hey if my girl was given a warning a previously and did it again, I hate it but the ban is justified. BUT if this was her first time - and there was no warning - somebody is OUT OF LINE, which is what pisses me off. I have NO intention of turning this into a witch hunt. I'm making a stand for my friend because I believe her banning was a knee-jerk reaction done without warning.

I myself have been warned.
Okay so more than once but that's not the point.

Seriously, the point is before people are banned, there should be a clear WARNING given to that individual - privately if possible or publicly, with respect, if necessary.

Some time ago, I was warned here and I was warned privately after which I voiced my views (privately to the one that emailed me) on the issues at hand back then. Even though it got rather ugly on the boards, I was never banned.

Now - my girl Jeanette has been banned.

To that I say WTF???

WHO is the crusading moderator THIS FRIGGIN TIME???

Okay so we get that for whatever cock and bull reason we are no longer allowed to exchange email addresses here - BTW, WHAT IS the reasoning behind that? This ain't Myspace and we're all grown ups.....hey, are you gonna ban us from posting links to our myspace profiles as a means of making outside contact????.....So Jeanette tried to slip in her email address to someone real quick with the intention of deleting it within the editing deadline and now she's banned. Not too long ago, in the Separated forum, someone tried that on Frank's old thread and Virginia herself came down and warned the individual...all I'm really saying to the powers that be is BE CONSISTENT in your leadership and disciplining of us wayward, rambunctious posters!

Jeanette is one of the sweetest (if a little highstrung ;\) ) and most sincere posters across all of these boards. That she should be banned for this is petty. A warning would have been suffient.

Unban Jeanette.

Her banning is unjust and inconsistent with your own previous management practices.

I absoultely agree. She adds a great deal to these boards. I thought hte ban was going to be short and sweet, not prolonged. She was just being helpful. Concerned. Isn't that whatthe boards arer for?

Please fix the problem. Jeanette gets it! We all get it!!!

Ahhh she broke the rules, even if it was for a second.

Like the LBS consitency would be nice.

This is our play ground, but we don't own the property.

The only way to get change to happen is if enough people in a thoughful and peaceful way explain how helpful being able to contact others without this board is.

Consistency would be nice.

People get banned and come back, except for RCR.

The mods are just doing there job.

That being said, I will use my voice.

Please allow Jeanette back.
Please change the policy.
Please allow PM's or some other way to contact other posters.

Hey Amy-

I have a question...

Was the post by Jeanntte deleted?

I am only asking because I know of two email addresses that are up now-- one of them has been for at least a month. I wondered at the time why there was nothing said about it, but perhaps those people were also banned? Just curious.

Good luck with your latest crusade!

Hope you come back, Jeanette.

Pam
