If I could find a military flight into Ft. Benning......it might be doable! Come to think of it, going to GA for something other than a visit to the base might be a nice change! Lol.

I'm of the mind that I'd go just about anyplace alone. It's nice to be able to share the experience, but I'm constantly amazed at the people I meet and the connections i make when I do things alone.

Good luck Grace! My son would be thrilled to death. He loves Anime.

I would go alone if was just a normal concert at a large venue but this is in a club that is known for some pretty wild things happening and I just wouldn't feel safe by myself there.

Wish me luck tonight. I have to bake 2 cheesecakes and make 4 pounds of macaroni salad for a graduation party tomorrow night for about 40 teenagers. YIKE!

Well, the grad party went swimmingly...pun intended!
The wild bunch only stayed about 45 minutes after the commencement and then started the rounds to the other parties in town so we spent the next hour or so cleaning up and then I headed home. Pretty good night.

H had taken S13 for new shoes yesterday after the last day of school and they got back to the house right as I pulled in from work. H had a strange request. He asked me if he could use my car to go to a funeral today because his tires are getting slick and his patrol car is in the shop for a new transmission for the weekend. I told him that was fine (I didn't add that it was fine since he's paying for the car anyway) and he said thank you about 10 times. Weird.

I sent him a picture of the graduation and he responded jokingly (probably only half jokingly come to think of it) "Oh good. Future guests of the county jail." We had a little banter back and forth for a few minutes and that was it. He sent a text later again thanking me for letting him use my car and he would see me in the morning to pick it up. About 2 hours later I got another text from him telling me that he was going to ride with another guy from the department and wouldn't need the car anyway but thanks again. I told him that was fine and added that he could feel free to stop by today if he would like so he and S13 could go fishing. He said he might.

Well, it's after 4:30p and he hasn't come by and S13 has called him but no answer. He was looking forward to going fishing with his dad. I guess I'm going to have to take him now. I hate taking fish off hooks!!!!! YUCK! The things we mom's have to do for our sons! He really should do it but he doesn't have the coordination to do it without hurting the fish. He'll learn.

Oh well, going to smoke a pork loin on the grill tomorrow and do the hot dog and hamburger hanging by the pool Monday. Hope everyone has a fantastic Memorial Day weekend!!!!!

The party sounds like fun. I hope the fish unhooking wasn't too icky in the end! Disappointing for S that H didn't pick up his phone when he called. Was he OK about that?

I just thought I'd pop in to say H called S just after I made the post and said he would be here in 30 minutes. He did arrive on time and took S to see one of his friends' new houses. They decided to go fishing tomorrow so S is pretty happy and so am I! I don't have to unhook the fish. YEAH!

I'll make sure to make that pork EXTRA smokin' just for you Lisa.

Please, tell me just how stupid I am. Go ahead, have your 2x4's at the ready. I think I deserve it. When H and S were gone I went shopping and on my way home I sent H a text telling him to let me know when they were on their way back so I would know when to go pick up dinner for us (meaning me, my son, and my mom). He had S call on their way back to say they would be back in 15 minutes so I could go ahead and pick it up. I started to leave and got this thought that maybe I should invite H to join us for dinner. So, like the glutton for punishment I obviously am, I did it. I invited him to join us. He kind of clammed up for a second and then said that he really couldn't because he had to scoot but thanks for the offer. He had to scoot? What the heck kind of statement is that? H has never used that word in his entire life! Good grief! All I have been able to think about the rest of the night has been that he had to scoot to get back to OW. YUCK! Now I feel like a complete dork! Total moron!!! I was trying to be nice and open better communication in a non-threatening way with him and all I managed to do is make myself miserable.

That does it, I'm going back to making sure I'm no where to be found when he comes to pick up or drop off S. I get all misty eyed when he's around and he could care less about me. TORTURE!!!!!!!
