In my own situation, I decided to tell my friends and family, "Look, I don't want to know what she said to you." I was trying to preserve the independent relationships she had with these people. They would comfort me and tell me I was not crazy, empathize with me. They'd give me their opinion, but I asked that they not give me verbatim reports, not call me when they finished talking to her, etc. But of course I was in a much different situation than you are - I was being called very controlling, so I was supersensitive to it.
Anyway... I agree your husband appears to be a few cards short of a full deck.
