So I get to court this morning. My Dad and brother are with me and JA had his Mother and Grandfather with him. JA also had his L with him and mine was no where to be found.
So I am waiting for my L to appear. No call from her, nothing. We were finally called to appear before the court where I had to say to the judge "Excuse me your Honor. My L isn't here." She asked who my L was and said ok, let's take the next case while we wait to hear from her.
So I step outside the court room and call the new law firm she works in. I told them who I was and that I was waiting for my L. They put me on hold and then come back and say that she is in a different court on another matter and sent another L from the firm to represent me today. I told her we did not see another L and she told me to go back in the court room and someone would point him out.
So my brother goes back in the court room and there is no Mr. L anywhere.
So I called back up the office and told them. They put me on hold and called his cell phone and then they told me he is there but in a different court room and he should be with me momentarily.
So finally he comes.
Meanwhile I also forgot to mention that the Law Guardian representing the chilren came in and sat right down next to JA and his L like they were old buddies!
As I was waiting for this L to show up I see JA, his L and the Law Guardian chatting it up outside.
So when I finally met up with this L I told him about it and I said it was not fair because I have not been interviewed by her.
So the L went up to the Law Guardain and asked her if I could speak with her too.
So I spoke with her, unrepresented (unlike JA) and I got the impression right away that she was siding with JA.
I'll get to that later.
So then we were called back in before the Judge and the L representing me has no knowledge of the case whatsoever.
The judge calls the Law Guardian, my L and JA's L to the bench.
They were talking real quite and I couldn't make out what they were saying but enough to tell me things weren't going to go my way.
JA's L did a lot of talking but obviously since my present L didn't know anything about the case just listened and didn't say a word.
Then they set a new trial for July 2nd.
And yes, the Law Guardian is definetly leaning toward JA's side and the judges' side.
I got screwed. If my L was there she could've defended me the same way JA's L defended him.
So right now I am p*ssed off beyond belief. I am deciding to whether I am going to fire my L but that means I almost have to start back from square one.
No matter what, she will be hearing from me. I think it was totally unprofessional of her to do what she did to me.
No heads up, nothing.
I got screwed in court today because she wasn't there.
