So, in my divorce decree, X and I were given 6 months to refi the houses (I kept the marital property and he kept the rental property). X called last week to say he was having a hard time qualifying to refi his mortgage and consolidate his new debts b/c the marital property is still showing as a liab for him even with the quit claim deed until I refi myself. He said that his debt to income is too high unless I refi at the same time... I mentioned that I've been busy but have been putting feelers out there too...
So fast-forward to today. X calls. He took the day off to work on banking biz such as getting the quit claims executed, etc. Did I have time to meet him at the bank to deal with that. No, but let me know and I'll stop by to sign today or tomorrow. I then drop D7 off with him and he says that he's found a way to get refi'd without having me refi concurrently... I just have to sign a lease that I'm leasing the marital property from him so that he can use that lease to offset the liability of the property.
