Last night after W was asleep (on the sofa with S10, they fell asleep to Pride and Prejudice), I retrieved the old ratty bathroom scale out of the bathroom she's been using, and replaced it with a nice attractive, new one. This evening she called to say she was going to be late from work, but the first words out of her mouth were, "I was going to return it." It took a bit for me to figure out that she was talking about the scale that she had pilfered from the master bath. I told her she could have it back, if she wanted, but she insisted on keeping the new one! She said she liked it. She asked if I'd gotten two, but I said that the old one seemed to work ok, so I'd use it. She said the new one got better answers! (I thought I'd compared, and they were close enough to the same, but I could be wrong.) So, that was at least a good thing.
This afternoon I got a lot of weeding done on the area I agreed to do. The only stuff I didn't get were a few desert brooms that are pretty well dug in. The plan is to spray them to kill them, and then cut them off. The roots seem to grab on pretty well. So, hopefully that will score a few points. It's the area between the house and the front walk, so it is pretty visible.
