From what I've read, I think that is a normal way for an affair to end. They don't end because the cheater wants to go back to their spouse, though that may be the result. The affair isn't about the LBS, nor is the breakup of the affair.

Jeff,

That's food for thought. Do you think I should mention it to him or let it ride.

In my mind, if he broke it off with her, and is showing interest in you, why doesn't matter much to start. I'd let it ride.

Thanks Jeff,

I'll post more later as I am going to run my first 10k this morning. Oh, he offered to bring the kids. We did talk a lot last night about things. I got your post to late so we did talk about it.

More later.

Well, I finished the race in 55 minutes. As I was running the race I begin to think about how I started training for this about 8 weeks ago. This coincides with when I went really dark on him too. It was an epiphany...I trained DB and the race at the same time and it was so weird that on the day of the race he was at the finish line. How's that for signs?

We then dropped the kids at home and went to his place where he promptly called her and told her never to contact him again. It was done in a respectful humble way.He told her he had messed up and didn't know who he had become the last couple of months but it was time to get his "sh*t together and try to see if he had a life left with his wife.

We spent most of the day together on Sat and Sun. It was hard for him to go home on Sun night. We need to take it slow and we are going to see about a solution based marriage counseling today.

I am scared, I catch him looking at me and smiling to himself. I think he is one of those "aliens" that the light bulb just goes off. He has returned from the mother ship. It is really weird how he seems to be more of the oldself than that weird new person that was in his body.

He is having a hard time with "how stupid" he was. He says he is very confused as to how he got to were he was. He equates it to feeling like he was brain washed by the things she said to him. I will tell you that he is not placing the blame on anyone but himself but is very confused how he got there.

At this point we have agreed to explore the possibilities of making this marriage work. We just don't know how to move forward safely for each other.

I guess counseling will handle that. When should he move back home? We both want it but again don't want to jump the gun.

He told me he loved me. Should I move to piecing or do you wait till your living together?
