((jeff))

The suggestion to measure yourself is a great one. I wish I would have. I know how many pounds the scale said I've dropped, but the big difference is in my clothing. It amazes me when I put on jeans that I wore just six months ago and see the inches gone. Knowing the size loss would be cool.

Regarding starting to exercise, it's not laziness or some other shortcoming, it's generally apathy and lack of interest. At least it was for me. But you find that once you start doing it, it becomes easier to fit in and then once you start seeing the difference, it fires you up to keep doing it, to work harder, etc.

I've lost 18 pounds since last September. 8 pounds I didn't know I had to lose. I thought if I dropped ten pounds, all would be good, though I didn't have a specific goal or anything. I'm little and the fact that I had this much extra body on me was surprising. But once I started moving, it easily became part of my week. Movement beget more movement and then I decided I needed to start lifting weights and OMG, I loved the changes I saw! Then I really started to lean up and that's where the rest of the weight went. I stopped weighing myself after I fit into my "dream jeans." These dream jeans have been in a box for years and now they are actually a little loose! I'm sure the scale is creeping up because of the weight lifting but I don't weigh myself anymore so I don't care; muscle weighs twice as much as fat.

So not only do I have a huge physical difference, the difference in how I feel is just as big. I've found my groove with my body and I love it. I proudly wear that bikini I bought, my first one in ten years. And I look better in one than I did ten years ago. \:\)

It's intimidating to get going, but once you get going, it's great. So go out there! Do that yoga DVD tonight! Think of all the time you spend on the computer, part of that could be spent on your body. It's something I'm actively trying to do, spend less time on the computer that is. The "I'll just pop on for 15 minutes" turns into an hour, then two. Wasted time. Take 30 minutes off and do yoga.

Oh it happens with guys too.

I used to have a nice big ass, now its all small.

Speaking off asses, get off yours Dry and do something. Stop talking about it, stop planning for it, and do it. Coulda, woulda, shoulda. 70 lbs doesn't come off by wishing it away.

Unfortunately true for me. Had to order my last bra through a pre-teen site on the internets. Seriously.
