Yes, they are running. They think they can find something that will make them happier. And considering many did not have a happy childhood, they think they still have not found true happiness only to find the affair has been an illusion and not what they thought it was going to be.
It is interesting to hear what they thought a few years ago and what they think now. I am basing this on conversations I have had with my husband.
