Well...

Saturday afternoon my 10 month old Standard Poodle, McGyver, started behaving very strangely. Scary, with symptoms much like those of torsion and bloat. So I ran him to the emergency vet clinic. Sure enough, no torsion, but he had swallowed something big enough and solid enough that it wasn't going to pass through the normal way. So, emergency surgery we had.

He is coming home today. We are not sure still what he swallowed, but it looks like an oversize "mouse ball" almost an inch in diameter and very solid.

I'm sure glad it was something they could fix. But now, it is looking not so likely that S15 an I'll be able to go out of town for mother's day weekend. I don't have/know of a reliable dog sitter and and I am a little reluctant to kennel him within a week of the surgery. We'll see how it goes. Maybe we can find someplace that takes dogs.

It's always something, isn't it.

I was indolent over the weekend, did only a few chores. Now must start acting like a normal, working human being.

Cheers all.
