Gas here is $1.18 a litre. I think it takes 2.2 litres to make a gallon so, maybe that's not so bad. It is hitting hard everywhere but here it is better than most places.
Amazing about the little burrowing owls. I will be sure to tell Josh. He loves birds and we are ever on the lookout. Your other critter was no doubt a beaver since otters don't have flat tails and don't slap the water (at least none that I've met). We have otters, mink and muskrat at our cottage and beavers at my dad's place.
