When I visited a family friend in Madrid one year, she took me to Friday's for a meeting of her "Americans in Madrid" club. (Yes, Friday's in Spain, when I wanted to see the real Spain.) Is there a similar group you could join? Nancy joined it right when she moved there because there was an instant commonality, everyone had the same language issues and there were things already set up to do.
I haven't a clue how people can go on for so long. Half of me thinks this has gone on too long already, but the other half just doesn't want to throw any chance away.
